Bids & RFPs

The Town of Alberton publishes all active solicitations on this page. Interested vendors are encouraged to check back regularly. For questions about any open solicitation, contact the Town Clerk at townclerk@albertonmontana.com.

What Is an IFB?

An Invitation for Bids (IFB) is used when the Town needs to purchase goods or services that can be clearly defined in advance — such as fuel, supplies, or routine maintenance. Vendors submit a sealed bid, and the contract is typically awarded to the lowest responsible and responsive bidder. Price is the primary factor in the award decision.

What Is an RFP?

A Request for Proposals (RFP) is used when the Town needs a service that is more complex or where the approach, qualifications, and experience of the vendor matter as much as price — such as engineering services, consulting, or specialized projects. Vendors submit a detailed proposal, and the Town evaluates multiple factors before making an award decision.
