Effective Friday, August 14th at 1 AM and will continue until rescinded by the Town of Alberton or these prohibitions may be extended by further action from the mayor.
TOWN OF ALBERTON, MONTANA
Has issued an Emergency Proclamation Stage Two Fire Restrictions for:
The following activities are prohibited in the Town of Alberton effective Friday, August 14th at 1:00 a.m. This will continue until rescinded by the Town of Alberton or these prohibitions may be extended by further action from the mayor.
1. Building, maintaining, attending or using a fire or campfire is prohibited.
2. Smoking, except within an enclosed vehicle, building or within an outdoor area of at least 3 feet in diameter that is barren or cleared of all flammable material and vegetation is prohibited.
3. The following acts are prohibited from 1:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m.
a. Operating any internal combustion engine.
b. Welding, or operating acetylene or other torch with open flame.
c. Use of an explosive device.
(A one-hour foot patrol in the work area is required following the cessation of all activities as identified in #3 above.)
4. Operating motorized vehicles off designated road and trails.
Stage II Exceptions:
1. People with a written permit that specifically authorizes the otherwise prohibited act.
2. People using a device solely fueled by liquid petroleum or LPG fuels that can be turned on and off. Such devices can only be used in an area that is barren or cleared of all overhead and surrounding flammable materials within three feet of the device.
3. Operating generators with an approved spark arresting device within an enclosed vehicle or building, or in an area that is barren or cleared of all overhead and surrounding flammable materials within three feet of the generator.
4. Operating a motorized vehicle on designated roads or trails.
5. Emergency repair of public utilities and railroads.
6. People conducting activities in those designated areas where the activities are specifically authorized by written posted notice.
7. Any Federal, State, or local officer; or member of an organized rescue or firefighting force in the performance of an official duty.
